“You are welcome here. You are wanted here. You are a part of this world.”
This Yew Essence has been one of the most popular essences since I first started selling essences back in 2017. I think it’s with good reason!
Yew trees are some of the most ancient beings on the planet. Conservative estimates say the oldest yew trees in the world are around 500 years old. More liberal estimates say it’s more like 20,000-30,000 years ago. The reason for this great discrepancy in estimates is because yew trees are very difficult to date. They are super slow growing so it’s hard to see their rings. In addition to this, as they reach maturity, the center of the trunk begins to hollow out.
Imagine what such ancient beings have to share with us youngsters? Some of things I “hear” when I connect with old yew trees are:
You are welcome here.
You are wanted here.
You are a part of this world.
You can be both rooted in embodiment & hold unseen realities.
Yew essence invites us to recognize the long arc of reality - to connect with the part of us that knows endings are not to be seen as failures or with fear, but simply as passages in time. This essence can be supportive during times of deep inner transformation, especially during times of loss, transition, death, or identity unraveling.
The yew tree is still. It witnesses fear from a place beyond fear. Yew doesn’t rush resolution; it holds space for what must fully die before the new can take root.
This essence can be particularly helpful when working with spiritual disorientation or the sense that something in your life is falling away without a clear shape of what’s next. Yew doesn’t offer quick comfort, it offers depth. A sense of quiet continuity. A reminder that you are part of a human lineage that stretches in both directions, and that you are not lost in the dark, even if you cannot yet see where you’re going.
This essence is the one I most commonly recommend when asked for support around the dying process.
Really potent essence!
